Nick started his broadcasting career with Radio Caroline, the last of the offshore pirate stations, on board an ex-Grimsby fishing trawler. Even though Absolute’s studios are in the heart of Soho, Nick finds it quite peaceful having broadcast during force 9 gales out in the North Sea and if we could arrange for someone to throw buckets of water at the studio windows during the show, he’d feel right at home!
Nick worked in UK commercial radio for over 18 years in cities from Manchester to Southampton and first worked at One Golden Square back in 2001, when he broadcast live from the V Festival and interviewed Coldplay’s Chris Martin, David Gray and others.
Being a huge motorsport fan, Nick recently drove the notorious Nürburgring race track in Germany’s Eiffel Mountains (and lived to tell the tale). It beats the time he once ‘officially’ switched on a set of traffic lights in the middle of Leicester with Shakin’ Stevens…
