Absolute Classics
What is an Absolute Classic?
In a way it's probably obvious.
You know those tracks which come on the radio and life almost stops. The radio gets turned up and people start drumming on their desks in the office and playing air guitar. Songs which unite.
Or those tracks which you have in your own record collection or on the iPod, which have a special place in your life to such an extent that they feel like you own them. They're Absolute Classics. They never tire.
Listen out to all our shows in the weeks to come and hear the ones that we think deserve the title 'Absolute Classic'. If you're not hearing one you reckon deserves to be played,
let us know - as we're going to be playing as many different ones as possible.
And if this all suggests to you that we'll be playing an even greater repertoire of music once we become
Absolute Radio, you'd be right.
How about these classics...
Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way
Not the most often played track from Rumours, but how good does this sound? Apparently this was written by Lindsey Buckingham as a message to Stevie Nicks.
Radiohead - Karma Police
Fate catches up with you! Great track. Great vid.
Lou Reed - Walk on the Wildside
What can we say? Produced by David Bowie from Reed's 1972 second solo album Transformer.
