Frequently Asked Questions

  • I can't hear you!

If you are having trouble listening through our Absolute Radioplayer, we recommend running through our handy checklist to see if you can identify the problem. If this doesn't get you listening, it will provide us with a bit more information to try to help you.

    1. Check that your computer or amplifier is not set to 'mute' and that the volume is turned up. If you are not sure, see if you can hear system sounds or audio from other applications.
    2. If you are using external speakers or headphones, check that they are working and plugged in correctly.
    3. Radioplayer requires JavaScript and Adobe Flash Player. Make sure that JavaScript is enabled in your browser (it should be by default) and that you have Flash Player installed. We recommend that you use the latest version of Flash installed, which is a free download. If you have more than one web browser on your computer, it can also help to try listening on all of them.
    4. If you still experiencing problems, send us an email. In order for us to help you as quickly as possible, your email should explain what you are seeing on your screen, including any error messages. It also helps us if you include information about the type of computer you are using, the operating system and web browser.
  • What frequency do you broadcast on?

Absolute Radio and our sister stations Absolute 80s, Absolute Radio 90s, Absolute Radio 00s and Absolute Classic Rock can be heard on DAB radio in the UK and on a variety of other platforms. You can find a list of platforms and frequencies at absoluteradio.co.uk/listen

  • Can I listen on my mobile phone?

Our free mobile app is available for most smartphones available today, including iPhone, Android, Nokia and Blackberry. There will be some phones which will not work with our apps so check-out absoluteradio.co.uk/mobile for the latest information on the handsets we support. If you still have a question, send us an email.

  • Why do you always repeat the same songs?

Wow, you must listen to us a lot - Thanks! Absolute Radio plays more unique songs than most radio stations out there and we pride ourselves in the No Repeat Guarantee during your workday. Compare My Radio will let you look at what we and other radio stations play in more detail if you are interested. If you would like to influence the music we play, you're very welcome to come along to one of our playlist meetings.

  • I've lost my password!

If you have forgotten your password, you can request a new one to be sent to the email address that you registered with. It may take a few minutes to come through, so be patient. When you receive the new password, log-in and immediately change it to something secure and memorable to you.

  • How do I unsubscribe?

You can unsubscribe from Absolute Radio's e-mails by following the link at the bottom of all the e-mails we send. We are unable to do this for you. If you want us to remove your membership entirely, send us an email. This will remove all your details, including your login information, and all competition entries. We cannot bring this back once it's been deleted.

  • How do I complain?

Absolute Radio, and our sister stations, are governed by OFCOM. We are under obligation not to broadcast material which is unfair, harmful or likely to cause offence. OFCOM regulates this principally by acting upon complaints received from listeners.

    • If you hear something you think is wrong, please write to us. We'd like to help put things right:
The Programme Director, Absolute Radio, No.1 Golden Square, London W1F 9DJ
    • If you're still unhappy after contacting us, you can make a formal complaint to OFCOM:
Ofcom Contact Centre, Riverside House, 2a Southwark Bridge Road, London SE1 9HA
      Tel: 0845 456 3000 (local rate) or Email: contact@ofcom.org.uk
  • Why use a password when there's Facebook?

If you've signed up for a shiny new Absolute Radio Account with all of the wonderful benefits therein, you will have noticed that we use Facebook to pre-fill some information, like your name and birth date. We only do this to save you time you could be spending watching our videos or entering competitions. You'll still need to use your email address and a password to log in to your account, though.
