To be fair, The Rifles aren’t brand-spanking new on the scene, they’ve been touring like mad since 2005, but we reckon this year is going to be big for them. With endorsement from Mr Weller, these guys are going to go far. It’s not often that a rock legend will take the time to perform with a lesser known band, so it speaks volumes that Weller has performed hits such as ‘The Eton Rifles’ and ‘That’s Entertainment’ with them.

With a sound that’s undeniably British, with a tinge of Britpop and of course The Jam, The Rifles are another band to watch in 2009. It’s their time.
