The Proclaimers at V2007
The Proclaimers are long-time friends of ours and it's fitting that they're playing both on the Main Stage as well as an intimate session backstage later.
The Scottish duo amble onstage with the assuredness of a band that has been doing what they're doing for years. Decked out in Trademark thick rimmed glasses and casual denim jackets and t-shirts. they stroll to the front with their guitars and crack a few great tunes out.
Charlie Read gets the crowd going with handclaps and rousing banter between the bouncing tunes. The Scottish flags are flying and while the sun's trying to hide behind clouds nobody cares because they're here at V and that's All that matters right now.
When they finish their set with their classic anthem 'I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)' nobody's in the slightest bit surprised. After an almighty cheer everyone sings their hearts out and starts bouncing around with their hands in the air. We've all grown up with that song and it's just as great every time we hear it. The suns out again. This is what festivals are all about. Take a look at the rest of the
festival news.
