The Pigeon Detectives

Introducing...

You may have heard a new indie anthem on your airwaves over the last couple of weeks. Well that's probably the new song by one of the hottest young collectives around at the moment, The Pigeon Detectives.

'I Found Out' is a two-minute slice of solid modern indie from the Leeds quintet. Cataloguing a sorry tale of heartbreak where a guy's missed his chance with a girl against a jaunty backdrop of punchy guitars and subtle, swirling synths. Check out the video.

Despite forming in 2002, everything started kicking off for them in 2006 when they toured with Dirty Pretty Things and Kaiser Chiefs. They also played at Reading and Leeds where NME labelled them as the band most likely to move up to the Main Stage in '07.

This is actually the second release for the song. Originally hitting the charts at #39 as the first single taken from their debut album, Wait For Me, it has been re-released almost exactly a year later.

They released that album in May 2007 and it reached #3 in the Album Chart and has thus far sold over 150,000 copies. If nothing else, they are consistent and plan to release their as-yet-untitled second album exactly a year later. I see a pattern emerging!
