Ordinary Boys set review
Preston isn't the kind of performer to give less than 100%, and it definitely showed this evening. Even though the crowds were slightly tired, as soon as The Ordinary Boys opened with 'Over The Counter Culture', people stopped being miserable and starting hopping up and down and dancing in typical 'ska-style' for the occasion. Preston joined in, bobbing all over the stage with his white guitar, occasionally talking to the audience (at one point about donuts - probably quite popular with the, uh, 'merry' crowd).
'Boys Will Be Boys' was definitely the highlight, with everyone suddenly finding energy they didn't know they had and suddenly becoming massively hyperactive, and Will Brown on guitar giving an impressive performance, keeping it infectious and full of attitude.
The other songs were just as popular, including 'Life Will Be The Death Of Me' and 'Seaside'. The crowd were completely happy, dancing along with their mates and generally looking quite stupid, but as Preston said, he was "feeling a lot of love." Well, Preston, we're feeling a lot of love too mate.
