Soul Asylum is an American alternative rock band that formed in Minneapolis,
Minnesota in 1983. The band originally formed in 1981 under the name Loud
Fast Rules, with the original line-up consisting of Dan Murphy, Dave Pirner,
Karl Mueller and Pat Morley. The latter was replaced by Grant Young in 1984.
