Live at V Festival 2008
The temperature has cooled dramatically as we enter the early evening, so what better way to heat things up than to introduce Reverend and the Makers to the 4Music stage at the Virgin Mobile V Festival 2008.
With frontman John McClure sporting a freshly cut mohican, the set is kicked off with the formidable 'State Of Things' much to the adoration of the by now bouncing audience.
John's in an antagonistic mood tonight, constantly challenging the audience to take him on and they respond in the only way they know how - dancing harder and faster.
The trademark poems are in full flow as the charismatic front man waxes lyrical about everything he sees wrong with the world between churning out hits like "Heavyweight Champion of the World", "Holiday" and even treating the fans to some new material.
But its all really just the build up to the big finish. As the Reverend belts out 'He Said He Loved Me' the crowd go wild for the final time but are still left wanting more. Stonking performance, so good I nearly dribbled a little.
