Mumm-ra

Introducing...

You may have heard Mumm-Ra recently with their great new single, 'She's Got You High'. The quintet formed in 2006 in Bexhill-On-Sea, Sussex, taking their name from the bad guy in '80s kids cartoon, Thundercats. They rose to prominence early in 2007 as they toured with The Automatic, The View and The Horrors on the NME Awards Tour.

They made such an impression that now the NME reckons that Mumm-Ra - featuring James "Noo" New (vocals), James Arguile and Oli Frost on guitar, Niall Buckler (bass) and Gareth Jennings (drums) - are going to be massive this year.

The band is remarkably proud of their hometown and references are made to Bexhill in several of their songs. Indeed, they've often been more interested in playing hometown gigs than at major festivals.
