Marina And The Diamonds biography
Marina & the Diamonds is the stage name of Welsh singer-songwriter Marina Diamandis.
Born in Abergavenny, she is half-Greek through her father. Working from London, her debut single "Obsessions"/"Mowgli's Road" was issued on Neon Gold Records in the United States, followed by the Crown Jewels EP in June 2009 featuring the songs "I Am Not A Robot", "Seventeen", and "Simplify". Her first major label single, a re-recording of "Mowgli's Road", was released on 15th November, 2009 on Atlantic Records in the UK; and through 679/Warner Brothers in the USA.
Her debut album, Family Jewels is set to be released on 22 February, 2010.
Background
Her musical style ranges from keyboard-based ballads to more up-tempo new wave-style songs with full band backing., the Glastonbury Festival in June 2009, and she played the Reading and Leeds Festivals in August 2009.
