Introducing...
Portland, Oregon; a hotbed of cultural icons. Ranging from author Chuck Palahniuk to animator Matt Groening, one cannot argue with the significant contribution that this city has given to the world of culture. And it’s not just books and movies, hundreds of bands have originated from the city. From The Dandy Warhols, to Sleater-Kinney to The Decemberists, Hockey were well-placed to become a success.
Sounding like a disco version of The Strokes, they’re garnering critical acclaim from all over the globe already. Upbeat, with the oh-so-fasionable-for-2009 synths, layered with some stripped down indie guitars, their music will get your head bobbing as you ride away on the Dylan-esque narrative lyrics.
Intrigued? Head on over to their
MySpace to hear what we mean. You can also check out a live performance song 'Too Fake' on their
Youtube.
Catch them throughout February in the UK while they’re still touring the smaller venues, you won’t regret it.
